Getting Ready for Thanksgiving

This week has started out very cold and I havent wanted to do much of anything. My grandkids stayed all night with me last night and will again tonite. Boy, they have wore me out.

Now to the topic at hand, when I worked I always made lists. But in the past year, I have not made one list or for that matter when cared if I did. I guess when I was on a time schedule it was easier for me just to make list. Now when I get up to face the day, I know that I have all day to get anything I want done.

Starting tomorrow, I will get everything put out for the holiday, I have to go over to our storage unit and get most of my decorations. I want to trim the tree on thanksgiving evening with my older 2 grandkids. I still need to do something around the house and then my son Brett is going to help me hang lights on the outside of the house. Brett made me a beautiful saltbox house that now is proudly standing on the front porch.

Where has summer gone

Its now the middle of September, and Im thinking where did the summer go? I have been busy with my home project, grandkids. This has been the first summer I havent worked outside the house in almost 20 years.

Junkin

I love to go junkin, I know since I was young that I love looking at auctions, yard sales and all around junk stores.

Im not so good at turning junk into treasures but I try. Going to Hartville in north Canton Ohio there were tons of vendors at the out door flea market. Locally we have a flea market setup every Thursday and Saturday. I love going and so does my grand daughter.

30th high school class reunion

I had a blast. I got to see high school friends that I havent seen in 30 years. Most have changed, some not.

The lazy days of summer-not

For the past 2 weeks all I have done is be on the run, going here and there and just seems everywhere. I go over in my mind all the things I need to get done and thinking how in the world am I ever going to find the time.

The 4th was a happy day, family picnic and afterwards I was ready to come home and sleep. Our pool is giving us fits, I just wish I could finally get it right! I did get a small table painted and put my pflatzgraff lamp on it. I love it and it was a steal at $5.00.

I have been thinking the few days how life can changed in an instant. This time last year I was working a job that I truly loved and how could I have known that in less than 2 months I would unemployed.

Here I am 48 and having to start over in the work force. I have been working for the last 20 years and this is the first summer that I have had time off.

I miss the people and the interaction with others, that is one reason why I have started this blog.
I have ideas to share, stories to tell, and would love to share every day life.

working on the pool

Well we opened our swimming pool yesterday, all in all it wasnt as dirty as I thought it would be.
Next Ill be cleaning the deck and putting out our deck furniture. It has been raining off and on for a couple of weeks. During the first of the month it was so hot.

a day at the zoo

My granddaughter Ezzi went to the Columbus zoo yesterday with her girl scout troup. She earned a patch for her vest for Daisy Brownies. Today she came over and I gave her some more of my dolls that I have been buying for her since she was little. She has an quite the collection now.

She saw some wild strawberries growing in our yard and she picked one for me. She said here you are meme. She is such a wonderful child. She is so pretty and smart. Her kindergarden graduation is at the end of the month. She will be wearing a cap and gown.

Lazy, hazy, Saturday

Its Saturday, and I have indeed been lazy. I have done a little primering on my kitchen cupboard. Its a little cool outside and I havent felt like doing much. Lazy, lazy me.

Rain, rain go away--i want some sun today

Its been raining for the last few days. I know that the rain helps with my flowers and it seems like everything around the house is so lush and green from the rain. I went to Kmart over the past weekend and bought the cutest plant stands.
